John 3:16-18 -“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
— Romans 6:23
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on Me hath everlasting life.
— John 6:47 (Jesus said this with EL as present tense)
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
— John 5:24 (again, present tense, has EL now).
This is the promise which He Himself made to us: eternal life.
— 1 John 2:25 (also see Galatians 3:22, Eph. 1:13)
Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.
— Matthew 10:28
Therefore, perish means perish, death means 2nd death for the soul, opposing eternal life of the soul.

There are judgments of different types. There is the Great White Throne judgment for those who never believed the promise of John 3:16, and the judgment seat of Christ (reward) for those who are convinced His promise is true.
No one will attend both.

Another who understands Matthew 10:28 ….
Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?
— Job 4:17
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
— 1 Corinthians 15:53-57
But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
— 2 Timothy 1:10

Can you find any scripture which tells us a human soul is by default eternally immortal and will live for eternity with or without God?
That would be a conflict with scripture (see above). God’s word is truth, it is pure, and without conflict (John 17:17, Proverbs 30:5, 2 Peter 1-20-21)
